Privacy Policy

The International Center for Humanitarian Affairs (ICHA) is hosted by the Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS). This notice adopts the privacy principles used in the KRCS website privacy policy and applies them to the functions currently provided on this ICHA website.

Information we collect

When you use an ICHA enquiry or contact form, the website may process information you provide such as your name or organisation name, email address, organisation or identity information, and the content of your message. The enquiry workflow may also attach basic submission information such as the page from which the enquiry was sent and the submission time.

Where a page allows comments or feedback, ICHA may process the information you choose to submit through that feature. Hosting and security infrastructure may also process standard connection information required to deliver and protect the website.

Why we use this information

Information is used to receive and route enquiries, respond to questions, manage collaboration or service requests, administer feedback, maintain website security and reliability, and meet applicable institutional or legal obligations.

Accessibility preferences and browser storage

The accessibility controls on this website can remember your text-size, link-emphasis and reduced-motion preferences using local browser storage. These preferences stay in your browser and are not submitted to ICHA by the accessibility feature.

Cookies and embedded services

Normal public browsing of the ICHA site does not require an account or login cookie introduced by this accessibility pass. Some pages may link to or embed third-party services. Those services may process data under their own privacy terms. If ICHA introduces analytics, advertising technology or other cookies that require consent, the site should provide the appropriate notice and consent controls before those technologies are enabled.

Sharing and service providers

Personal information may be handled by authorised ICHA or KRCS personnel and by service providers needed to operate the website, host content, secure the service or deliver an enquiry. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or a competent authority.

Retention

Personal information should be retained only for as long as needed for the purpose for which it was collected, for legitimate institutional records, or to meet legal and security requirements. Retention rules for future CMS, analytics or CRM integrations should be documented before those systems go live.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to personal information held about you, ask for inaccurate information to be corrected, or request deletion where the organisation is not required to retain it. For an ICHA website privacy enquiry, contact info@icha.net. KRCS privacy contact details are maintained on the source policy linked below.

Third-party websites

The ICHA website links to KRCS and other external platforms. ICHA does not control the privacy practices of external websites, so you should review their notices when you follow those links.

Updates to this notice

This notice should be reviewed whenever the website adds material new data collection, analytics, account functionality, a CMS workflow, CRM integration or other third-party processing.
