This course gives an in depth understanding of how to prevent, prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters. The objective of the course is to develop effective strategies and systems for disaster Risk Reduction, Preparedness, Response and Recovery.The Course targets representatives from relevant Government ministries/departments, Emergency Service Providers, Humanitarian/reliefworkers, disaster managers, and the general public
•Learn knowledge, skills and attitudes in disaster management within the context of humanitarian assistance and sustainable development, while respecting human dignity.
•Develop effective strategies and systems for disaster Risk Reduction, Preparedness, Response and recovery.
•Demonstrate knowledge, skills and expertise in managing water sanitation and hygiene in emergency situations.
•Develop effective skills and expertise in provision of First Aid during emergencies.
•Experience in conducting psychosocial support and Tracing of missing persons
•Build capacities and confidence for planning, implementing, supporting and sustaining programmes
